After months of surfing the Web, filling out various registration forms, placing hundreds of banners on my web pages and taking them out, I came to conclusions that might have some value for people interested in a similar activity. Only programs that have really paid are included!
The easiest, but probably not the most effective way is to run click-through program. This way is suitable if you are not prepared to work much to promote your income. If your site generates big enough traffic and has at least some original content, you should try the NEW one, Hamster, which pays up yo 40 cents per active visitor (displays a banner with 4 text links each 10 cents worth).
However, if your site is small or has a specific content, you can find
more valuable choosing a completely NEW program, Commission
Junction.
They accept requests to hundreds of advertisers. The
number of affiliate programs is increasing every week and some of them are paying very
high commissions. You can choose as many as fit to the content of your site. You benefit
from a possibility to accumulate big enough amount to be really paid. Additionally, Commission
Junction pays you commission from amount earned by your
refferals
Among the programs that offer commissions from the sales you generate, the one offered by amazon.com seems the most effective. You can select their products (mostly books, CD, VHS tapes etc.) and advertise them adding some promoting material. I chose amazon.com because of good possibility to find hundreds of books related to any topic you would like exploit on your site. Check some pages that promotes amazon.com books:
You can find tones of links to another sites that offer similar programs, but if you are prepared for active marketing, I would suggest you concentrating on very few programs.
Of course, you can earn some cash by doing almost nothing as well. There are possibilities to get some money even if you don’t have your own website. One of such possibilities is filling out surveys. In this case you earn some cash for each survey program you are selected for. Try them:

All the above listed opportunities are totally free (except your connection expenditures and time). However, you could hardly exceed "amateur" three-digit monthly profit level even if you use all the tools on all your pages recruiting all your e-mail accounts. If you decide to make some investment in your online business, what kind of program should you look for? One thing is certain: do not pay for "$20,000 in two weeks" or similar offer. Such a program means either cheating you or making you cheat others (or both).
